Over 3,000 PILH Kreyòl books are now in children's hands
A milestone worth celebrating, and a testimonial that says it better than we ever could.

Over three thousand PILH Kreyòl books have now been given to children in rural Haiti. One hundred percent of every tax deductible donation goes toward PILH programs: trained educators, reading materials for libraries and school classrooms, and the slow, patient work of building readers.
One young reader wrote to us after receiving her books:
I really appreciated this initiative. I have already read two stories. The one that interested me most was The Adventures of Mr. Kra and Mr. Po. The lesson I learned is that you should never give up. You have to fight for the change you want to see and for your dreams. In the story, one of them gave up, but the other never lost hope. That is the attitude I want to have in my life.
The only books in Creole I had the chance to read before were the Bouki and Malice stories in school textbooks. I wish we had a big library where we could find all kinds of books. I am used to writing letters as part of pen pal games, and my dream is to write a book one day.
I thank the leaders of PILH for thinking of us.
Her dream is to write a book one day. Ours is to make sure she has a library to write it in.
Every Haitian child deserves books in their own language.
